Happy 50th Birthday to Burns

We’re delighted to announce that the Burns brand is 50 years old this autumn.

New improved Aquila

Sutherland took on distribution of Aquila Nylgut Ukulele Strings in 2007. Stunning Fernandes Shin Series

Kala U-Bass “Every bass player should own one”

The July issue of Bass Guitar Magazine carries a very favourable review of the Kala U-Bass, a bass with polyurethane strings built on the body of a baritone ukulele. The review was written by bass and ukulele player Sam Wise who, after describing the instrument, says:

“Plug it in and this little bass is a revelation; we had been thinking of it as a travel bass but, in reality, it’s also a travel upright bass! The tone is naturally deep, rich and just as thudding as it was unplugged. (more…)
